Job Description

The ISFC Supervisor is a co-leadership position with the ISFC Clinical Supervisor for all children and youth placed in Intensive Services Foster Care. The Supervisor is responsible for the children/youth Needs and Services Plan and coordinates daily with the ISFC Clinical Supervisor to incorporate the MH Service Plan into day to day care and supervision of the child/youth. The ISFC Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of Social Workers and Staff Assistant and ensures program compliance in accordance with Foster Care Program Statement, RFA Standards, CDSS regulations and DCFS Contract. Participate in the development and implementation of strategies to increase recruitment and retention of ISFC families. Works in collaboration with the ISFC team to provide safety, well-being and permanence in the ISFC placement; other duties include: training and support to ISFC parents, conduct initial Home Studies for approval, annual home inspections and updates, collateral sessions with the Clinical team, support groups and training for foster families.

The ISFC Supervisor is energetic, self-starter who is able to function comfortably in a team environment, adaptable to change and able to work with varying personalities and styles of communication. Manages time effectively in order to meet deadlines and assist Social Workers in keeping contractual timelines.

This position requires flexibility and the ability to manage time and multiple tasks. The individual in this position must be able to assume a wide range of responsibilities, provide timely responses to requests and deadlines and work well under pressure

Location: Palmdale CA

Salary Range:  $54,000 up to $62,730 per year

$5,000 Bilingual Spanish additional per year

 

Job Requirements

  • Incorporates State (CCL-FFA regulations) and County (DCFS- contract), DMH requirements through the vision of Core Practice Model; as well as, program or fun
  • Attends community meetings and trainings to ensure up to date knowledge of ISFC and community events.
  • Provides direct and group supervision for the Staff Assistance who is responsible for collecting and managing child/youth and foster parent files
  • Provides direct weekly supervision for ISFC Social Workers that includes monitoring of progress notes, monitored visitation, development and timely submission of the NSP, incorporating the MH Service Plan into the Child and Family monthly meetings, completion of timely incident reports and coordinating with DCFS continued support during ISFC placement.
  • Provides training and support to foster parents to ensure compliance with all Title 22 regulations and DCFS contract requirements.
  • Meets regularly with FFA Regional Director and Clinical Director to plan effective treatment for the child/youth as well as recruitment and retention of ISFC families.
  • Coordinate with Clinical Supervisor the 24 hour on-call to manage crisis over the phone and in person.

Requirements:

A minimum of a Master's Degree in the behavioral sciences field and must have a minimum of two years’ experience in the social services or behavioral health field working with children, adolescents and families. Some supervisory experience preferred.  Specific requirements, Child Welfare services best practice standards, Penny Lane’s philosophy, policies and procedures to develop consistent standards for Penny Lane’s FFA/DMH documentation and to support foster parents with 1:1 support and training as needed. 

Bilingual Spanish

Valid California driver’s license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance company; have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours
