Job Description

Summary:

The Life Skills Coordinator is responsible for assisting youth in the Housing Services Department to build competencies which will allow them to live independently. The Coordinator will liaison with community partners and when necessary outsource, arrange or facilitate activities with these partners with an eye towards increasing the capacity and self-esteem and wellness of youth. The Coordinator will provide activities that develop life skills, build capacity, and independence in the participants and reach out to engage the youth in these activities.


Position Location: North Hills, CA


Salary Range: $17.57 up to $20.27 per hour

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field such as Social Work, Psychology, Education, with an emphasis in counseling, criminology or social welfare, child development, or other relevant fields especially with regard to homelessness and vulnerable youth and/or social services.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years experience working with vulnerable populations and at-risk youth in a public or private child welfare social services setting and/or specific experience working with transition age youth who are 16 to 24 years of age.
  • Valid California driver’s license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance company; have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours
