Job Description

We are seeking individuals to join our team who have high standards and a desire to positively impact the lives of others. 

Summary: 

The Employment Specialist (ES) provides situational assessment, employment preparations, job development and job placement services to Transition Age Youth (16-25) which could be Department of Rehabilitation (DOR) eligible consumers. The Employment Specialist participates in activities to educate, recruit and support clients and employers. The Employment Specialist serves as an employment liaison between clients, employers, and community partners.  The Employment Specialist assists the consumer by providing a variety of supportive and employment related services, some of which may include mentoring, coaching, transportation or other services that address the clients’ readiness to work. The Employment Specialist supports program adherence to the DOR/DMH contract.

The Employment Specialist (ES) needs to be a self-starter and able to work independently. The ES needs to have flexibility and excellent organizational skills. The ES needs to be able to operate from a strengths based perspective.


Position Location: Commerce, CA


Salary Range: $19.08 up to $21.15 per hour

Additional $1.00 per hour Bilingual Spanish Differential


Position Shift: Full Time; Tuesday-Friday 11:00am-8:00pm and Saturdays (Varies)

Job Requirements

  • B.A. preferred in psychology, administration or a related field and two years related direct client care or supported employment experience.

  • Less than College Degree and four years related direct client care or supported employment experience.

  • Valid California driver’s license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization’s insurance company; have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.
