Summary:
The Residential Counselor must comply with 80065 of Title 22. Responsible for the safety, supervision, protection and care of children at all times. The Residential Counselor follows the resident’s treatment plan, emergency intervention plan and most importantly, creates a safe, trauma informed and nurturing environment where therapy can occur. Residential Counselors assist each child in working with a group and in handling individual problems. They administer behavioral support and intervention and setting of limits per Penny Lane policy and procedure. They document the child’s progress; identify the possible need for professional services; and communicate such findings to professional staff. They must have knowledge of agency policy procedure and treatment program. Residential Counselors implement all resident’s treatment and safety plan. They must maintain staff to client ratio at all times. They are also responsible for transporting the clients to and from school as well as other destinations as required.

Salary Range: $16.10 up to $19.95 per hour
Position Shift: Sunday-Wednesday Overnight; Additional 10% Overnight shift differential.
